National Competition 2019

On 6th of June in Verona it was held the 3rd Enactus Italy National Competition.

In the enchanting venue of Teatro Ristori we welcomed nearly 400 guests including students from all over Italy along with their academic representatives, all our partners and many friends.

It’s been a dynamic and energy-filled event full of talent and passion.

The opening round of the competition saw 10 student teams and a panel of 20 judges at work through the morning.

In the afternoon we have been welcomed by the President of Fondazione Cariverona, Alessandro Mazzucco, and we received the greeting of the dean’s delegate Prof. Tommaso dalla Massara.

Later on we saw the panel discussion moderated by Cristiano Seganfreddo with Alessandro de Nicola, Orrick LLP, Valentina Sangiorgi, Randstad Italia, Matteo Storchi, Comer Industries, Barbara Valaperti, Korn Ferry and Conor O’ Shea, Italian Rugby team coach, during which they discussed, based on their experience, how young generations should face the challenges of work life.

After this inspiring debate, we announced the 4 finalist teams: Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano, Università Bocconi, John Cabot University and Università di Trento, which we saw shortly afterwards presenting they projects with professionalism and passion.

During the competition, we also had the pleasure to have on stage the talented high school students of Istituto Salesiano Don Bosco of Verona, showcasing their innovative project “Lavatrice spaziale”, with which they won the world final of the First Lego Robotics competition in Houston (Texas).

So we finish with the award ceremony: this year our judges, 28 business leaders, have chosen the team of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano to be the Enactus National Champion Team. Thanks to this award, the team will take part to the Enactus World Cup in Silicon Valley. The winning team won also the chance to attend the Startup Academy, an accelerator program sponsored by Unicredit and the TEDxCortina. Moreover we saw 2 awards out of competition offered by KPMG: “Alumnus of the year” and “The most active ambassador of Enactus”: both winners will fly to Silicon Valley along with the National Champion Team to take part to the World Cup.

The Enactus Italy National Competition has never been so participated and full of contents and we are proud of the progresses we have made all throughout this years.

But none of this would have been possible without the support of our partners: Fondazione Caritro, Fondazione Trentino Università, Carlisle Brake & Friction, Fondazione Cariverona, KPMG, Clevertech, DANA, Microsoft, Randstad, Unicredit and Viaggigiovani.it; who are playing an essential role in advancing our work to improve lives, empower communities and develop the socially responsible business leaders of tomorrow.
